The French Riviera

What can be more romantic than sailing the French Riviera? The southeast corner of France along the Mediterranean coast line offers more contrasts than anywhere else in the world: rugged, rocky inlets, fine beaches compliment the large resorts of the Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo.

The best coastline you will ever see.

One of the first modern resort areas, the coastline began as a winter resort for the British upper class at the end of the 18th century. The railway opened up travel possibilities and soon became a favorite vacation and playground for the British, Russian, and other aristocrats. During the first half of the 20th century it was frequented by artists and writers as well as wealthy Americans and Europeans. This place can really give you some memorable moments with your friends and family. This is a lovely place. You can really see something which is amazing and is not there in any other place of the world.

Let us go into the History.

Named by a famous writer, the coast was given the name Cote d’Azur in his book La Cote d’azure which was published in 1887. The term French Riviera was built by analogy with the term Italian Riviera. The British referred to the eastern part of the coast as the Riviera as early as the 19th century; originally it is an Italian common name which means ‘coastline’. This place is very famous amongst the visitors from a very long time. Lots of travelers visit this place from a decade or more.

The Surrounding are equally beautiful

Surrounding the principality of Moanco with a total population of over two million, the French Riviera also contains the seaside resorts of Cap-dAil, Juan-les-Pins, Cannes, and Saint Raphael to name a few. It is a major yachting and cruising area with several marinas along its coast, and hosts the 50% super yacht fleet with 90% visiting the region’s coast at least once in their lifetime. You should look at a professional company which can help you hire a yatch and then enjoy your time with you friends and family here. If you pickup a good service then your travel will become very good and you can focus on your sightseeing and other things will be done by a yatch hiring company.

With sunny, hot, dry summers and mild winters, The French Riviera has a Mediterranean climate which makes year round travel possible and enjoyable while exploring the many sites and hidden treasures the Riviera has to offer. This same climate and vivid colors also contributed to attracting many famous artists during the 19th and 20th centuries.

With its pebble beaches and multimillion dollar houses, the French Riviera has captured the attention of sun lovers and socialites. Out of the many places to explore you will not want to miss out on St. Tropez and the famous towns painted by Picasso: Antibes, Mougins, and Vallauris; Cap d’Antibes, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and Moanco, where the billionaires can be seen at multiple spots. This is something very unique.
